Tannie has a question for Blogger Friends...

Please see Tannie's question below his photo.

Hi it's Miss S, Tannie wants to know if it is possible to be kissed to much? It is possible?

Our mom kisses our heads all the time. When we hear her walking our way, we automatically flatten our ears and wait for the big KISS. She makes a loud noise when she does it. Cept at night, then it is a very soft kiss.

So, what do you think?

Blackie's Story, it is really last!

Please forgive me for not posting Blackie’s story like I said I would. This type of behavior is frowned upon by Tannie Man. He keeps notes. My, little, evil OWL-ish, computer manager.

So now about The Sweet B, Blacks, BBB….here is his story:

I found him in a garden hose with Tannie Man, when they were very young kittens. So young that their eyes were barely open. They are brothers and I think Tannie is older than Blackie, but who knows!

Blackie was always a reserved kitten. Not a big snuggler with humans. When he was very little, his idea of a cuddle was to sit on your forearm. Really, he would just balance on your arm. Not into the lap. But if you picked him up when he was nodding off, you could cup him in your hands and he would sleep peacefully!

As Blackie grew into a teenage kitty it was clear that Tannie would rule the roost and B would just follow happily behind. Funny thing, the B knew his name but he understood that Tannie would come to anyone who called “Blackie.” Blackie would wait to see if Tannie would respond to his name, if not, then Blackie would trot on over to the person who called him!

About a year ago Blackie had to go to the vet for some issue. He was gone overnight and it was strange. The house felt so empty. Tannie looked sad, Miss S was looking for Blackie all over the house and that day I realized something… Blackie is the glue that holds our furry family unit together! And we did not know it, until that day.

Blackie is a friend to all kitties. He and Miss S are good buddies. Miss S just worships him, even though she loves to nip on his toes til he meeps. Tannie has the best brother. The B will lick Tannie’s head and then sniff catnip with him before a big wrestle.

And for me, well the B is my “big guy”. As my brother says, B may not know who he is or where he is, but he is a very sweet and loving kitty.

Recently he has become very amorous. If I am on the computer, he just waits until I make room for him in my lap then jumps up. Most nights, before the lights go out, he snuggles up to me in bed and rubs his nose all over the book I am reading.

He is my sweet BBB!

Love to the B,

Blackie's Story

Hi Furries, Tannie Man here!

Mom has been very busy and promises to post The Blackie Kitty story tomorrow. She has been on the puter a lot.

Today she did have quality time with Blackie, she cuddled him in her arms for an hour. Well, that did not make me too happy, but since he never does that, it was OK this one time.

BTW, this is the evil look I give my Mom when she is on the puter too long. Next I try to take down the metal mini blinds!

A note from Blackie...

Mom has promised to post a story about me tomorrow. I told her these gold kitties have had too much blog time and that I am ready for my story to be told.

We can't wait to hear about the Pawtraits contest too!

Also, I would like to know if there are any other kitties out there that must drink from running water in the tub? Please explain to my mom how important this is. She is thinking of stopping this ritual we have.....HELP.

Toasty-ist regards,
Your furry friend Blackie!

My new shoes, Tannie Man inspection!

Last week I got a great pair of new trendy brown sequin espadrilles.

I was so excited to find them for a mere $29. But there was one other person, ahem, kitty that was more excited than me.....

The Tannie Man

You can see that he is inspecting my new espadrilles and making sure that they work well with his brown fuzzy toy!

Does this go on at your house?

Please share your shoe stories & post your shoe pics....I hope I am not alone!

PAWTRAITS hints found in the Laundry Room..

Meow all furry friends, Tannie Man here…

Mom told me I could share the hints about our paws to help you win the Pawtraits contest!

First, Blackie did not want to play. He said his paws are off limits, cuz he frew-up a bunch of hairballs recently and was not up to a portrait sitting. We also know he is better, because last night he snuggled up with Mom as she was reading her chick~let book in bed. He always does this when he feels better. Purrs to The BBB!

Blackie is OK now…we hear him munching on his favorite hairball-preventing dry food. Yes in his heart bowl!

Second both Miss S & I are in the Pawtraits. We are both on the very first page of the Pawtraits & next to each other. Our gold paws look great!

Third, Miss S is an even numbered Pawtrait and she is stretching out her paws! Mom was walking by and Miss S did this on the kitchen island to get pets with the wire brush. She loves that!

We love to be with Mom so much, that she had to make us a petting zone in the kitchen. I like to jump up there when Mom is making hot tea in the morning. She talks sweet to me and kisses my head...just between the ears.

Forth, I am an odd numbered Pawtrait and am snuggled up in Mom’s lap with my paws curled up. I have white pawzies too, sorta like white boots with my gold fur on my soft leggs!

Please leave hints for us too! Either on your blog, or in our comments sections. We would much appreciate that.

Mom is digital "filter" crazy...meep!

She just loves to play with our pictures. This is our favorite spot. We can still squeeze together on the kitty condo like when we were little kittens. Blackie is just getting plumper though!

Both chairs created in Photoshop Elements...very fun to create. Although Tannie did not like my computer time...took away from his snuggle time.

For Scooby, Shaggy & Scout ~ Tannie vs Miss S

I have made this kitty collage for Scooby, Shaggy & Scout. They wanted to know some tips to be able to tell Tannie Man and Miss S apart, since both gold kitties look so much alike!

Tannie Man has a darker gold fur coat and white paws. He also has lots of white around his mouth and on his chest. He is a fluffy kitty, unlike Miss S who is less fluffy.

Miss S is has a fur coat that is a lighter color gold than Tannie. She is a smaller kitty also. Her paws are not white like Tannie's.

I hope this picture helps you see their differences....please double click in the image to see it better!

BTW, I found Miss S in the same neighborhood that I found Tannie in...only 3 blocks away from each other and 3 years later. We think they are probably related!

Can you tell which kitty is which, in their pictures on the bottom as they eat together?

Glamour =^..^= Glamour

Here is my portrait of the glamorous Tanner also known as “Tannie Man” and “Sweet T”. It was especially difficult to complete this portrait as Tanner was in my lap pawing my face and walking across the keyboards.

It is time to tell the Tanner story:

Once upon a time, I found two very young kittens in a garden hose unattended. Needless to say I scooped them up and took them to the vet where they got a clean bill of health.

My boyfriend at the time became the best Pappa Kat 2 kittens could have. He fed them, bathed them, soothed them when they cried and named them: Black & Tan!

As they grew up, Tannie Man, developed into quite the character. As a little kitten it became very clear that he was the “love bunny” of the 2 kittens. After each meal, of kitten mush, he would look for me and then walk up my chest until he reached my face… where he would rub his messy paws all over me. I expect he thought I was his mom and should clean him up. Which is just what I would do. He would then fall asleep into a wiggly kitten nap, chasing his tail in his dreams I am sure. Baby wipes became a standard item in the house.

(BTW he has just come back and is ready for more attention! Hold on while I hoist him on my lap…)

As he grew up and was big enough to sleep in my bedroom, it became clear that I was going to have to share my pillow. He also had to adjust to the fact that I like to read books in bed and they are not there to be chewed on or pawed at. More on this later…

In the house, of the 2 kittens, Tannie became the alpha male. But as I began to take he and Blackie to the vet for their usual physicals, I noticed that Tannie was very timid. What a surprise! He is the first one to inspect new visitors to the house and the first one to pop a new kitty on the head. He will even run Blackie off of any sleeping spot if he wants to be there. But, to my surprise he is only the alpha male in his own home!

When I call any other kitty, Tannie is the first one that shows up…most of the time I call Blackie when I want Tannie.

Tannie’s favorite food is … any kind of food. His is not picky and usually eats hours after I have served up Fancy Feast or Science Diet dry food. Human food holds no interest to him.

When he was a teenager kitty, Pappa Kat and I created a game called “topple tannie”. We would go to this pizza place where you could win very small stuffed toys in this crane thing. We would bring home these little toys: footballs & balls. Once home, we would chant: “topple tannie, topple tannie”, immediately Tannie would run to the top of his cat tree and we would stand on either side of the tree winging the toys over his head. The cat tree is over 6 feet tall and has a little cupped area on top that Tannie lays in. Today this is his most favorite game. He actually swats at the toys as they sail over or he catches them.

His other favorite toys are feather sticks and tissue paper. Catnip makes him wild-n-crazy. He will wrestle with Blackie when he is hopped up on catnip. His tail gets big and fluffy!

To wrap up… here is our evening ritual. Around 10pm if I am not in bed, Tannie will come looking for me. He will do what ever it takes to get me to go to bed. Whatever it takes… swipes at the metal mini blinds are his last resort…. which usually works like a charm!

Once he sees me heading towards the night time ritual…he watches all the events, that lead to bed: computer turned off, dishwasher is turned on, TV turned off, glass of ice & water prepared, lights turned off, book thrown on bed & lastly teeth brushed ~ mine! Now, all systems are ‘go’ for Tannie. After this…. he races to the foot of the bed. Once I begin reading he proceeds to take a big cat bath and then trots off for a quick dry food snack. After about 10 minutes he leaps on the bed and pads over to me and snuggles next to me. His head on my pillow, front paws draped over the bed, his back to my side ~ he begins to purr!

All is well in the world.
